The nice folks at Bungie saw fit to supply a few of us here at Gamepro with access to the new Legendary Map Pack that's due to hit Live next Tuesday. Since the maps are not yet available in matchmaking, I was restricted to goofing around all by my lonesome in a custom game. Still, I was able to get a good feel for the new content. Screenwriter Stuart Beattie has written a new Halo script based on The Fall of Reach. Don't get your hopes up, though, because the studio didn't exactly ask him to.

Remember that story a few days ago about Master Chief being playable in Unreal Tournament III? Well, apparently not only is Microsoft alright with that, they're pretty happy about it.
Here's what a Microsoft attorney had to say about it:
"The developers aren't selling the mod, they're not monetizing Microsoft's IP, they're just creating something to share their love of the Master Chief on a new platform. It's a great thing for us and a great thing for the gaming community."
