Will We See Halo at E3?

Jul. 10 1:12 PM by Dylan Duarte

What secrets are you hiding?

The last Bungie podcast hinted that the developer plans to make an announcement at this year's E3, specifically on July 14th. With rumors flying every which way, I run down everything that has been speculated on.

Halo 4 - Minus Master Chief

This whole thing started when Sarcastic Gamer reported that they had a source telling them that Halo 4 was already well underway at Bungie and that it was going to be announced at E3. CVG took it even further when their source told them that the aforementioned sequel would not feature Master Chief, the series' leading man.

Halo: Chronicles

The Peter Jackson episodic movie-game project was confirmed by Microsoft a few months ago. The game is supposedly a new chapter in the Halo story and has been described by Peter Jackson as a "filmiest game."

Well we know that Chronicles is coming for sure, so re-announcing it would be redundant. However, that doesn't mean that the announcement can't be a confirmed release date or something along those lines.

Halo Third-Person Prequel

Remember this rumor from a few months back? EGM started it by telling us that the third-person shooter was being developed for release in 2009 and may or may not be part of the Peter Jackson project. However, they state that WETA, Peter Jackson's effects company, is "definitely involved." That bit of information leads me to believe that yes, if this does exist, it's most assuredly part of the Peter Jackson project.

So we have Halo: Chronicles, a possible Halo 4 sans Master Chief, and a possible Halo prequel. Hey, here's a crazy thought: what if they're all the same thing? Seriously, these are nothing more than vague rumors that could easily be the same thing: a new Halo game that doesn't involve Master Chief and is helmed by Peter Jackson.

Or, I could be wrong, and we could get 17 new Halo games in the next couple years.

Im new here and I just want to know where the E3 is located.

how can there be a halo 4 the halos were destryed and thats what the story is based on.

One thing is for shore if this whole thing terns out to be a joke or just a release for some book or doll then it could affect how people think of bungie. This announcement in fact could be the ending point of the halo franchise totally.

shiftydevil-the halos weren't destoryed, only the main construction site for the halos. also, halo 4 may actually be named Marathon since Halo was a prequel to Marathon.

hey shiftydevil beat the game on legendary and youll see why there making another one

I dont know why they dont have the chief in the new halo he is alive.

NO CHIEF NO HALO LOL. Yeah my guess is that its all in 1 also.

And supposedly if you finish Halo 3 in Legendary with all 14 skulls activated theres another ending. and the 14 skulls no joke theres one more in the level Cortana.

And how it ends in legendary well theres youre way to start the story for Halo 4 I mean falling into an unknown planet where there could be different and new enemies.

Describe the endindg

I'm not going to buy halo 4 if theres no master chief and if theres going to be huge changes that suck. Theres no 14th skull! If there was another one in the level cortana then I have already found it!

well did you find the one right before you save cortana in the round room with the generator things. (although I foud it yesterday and well in fact its yust an easter egg it doesn't do anything its just for fun).

ragnos, marathon isn't a prequel to halo. fans thoght it was, but bungie has comfirmed its not.

Hey Nebbydoodoo I didn't say anything about marathon maxlc3 said it something about marathon I just said that the ending in halo 3 in legendary is an easy way to continue the halo games or at least make halo 4.

Ragnos is right you Noob!

Ihope there will be another halo
