Halo Prequel in the works?

According to the rumors in the latest issue of Electronic Gaming Monthly, a Halo prequel - called Halo 0 (zero) - is in the works. Hit the jump for details.
The spin-off title, due in late 2009, will reportedly be a third-person action adventure and takes place before the first Halo game. The story will involve the early battles between the ODST and the Covenant.
This may be the Peter Jackson project, as WETA, the effects company that worked on the Lord of the Rings trilogy, is definitely involved.
The rumor also states that we can expect a big announcement around November 2008, when Gears of War 2 ships.
