Janco Partners analyst Mike Hickey thinks it's entirely possible for the latest installment in the Grand Theft Auto series to sell more copies than last year's Halo 3. Hit the jump to read more.
Over at itwire.com, Hickey is quoted as saying "Grand Theft Auto IV could sell 5.8 million copies in its first week, giving it retail sales of US$360 million, which would be bigger than the US$300 million Halo 3 did in its first week last year."
What do you think, Halo fans? Grand Theft Auto is a mighty big force. Can Niko Bellic, GTA IV's protagonist, dethrone Master Chief?

It's hard to say really. The GTA franchise is just as much of a behemoth as Halo is, and it has the slight edge of being multi platform. Should be interesting to see.
I don't really think this is cause for alarm though. It should be assumed that videogame sales will only grow after Halo 3. It's a good thing for the industry. And "Dethroning" Master Chief at this point is kind of moot I think.
Hey Dylan. Remember when Latinoreview posted their script review of Halo? Check the front page!
